Lucy Benjamin
Age: 39
Occupation: Actress
Celebrity supporters: Anthony Cotton, Bill Ward, Simon Webbe, Jim Davidson,
Elaine Lorden
Phobias: Flying insects, birds, butterflies and moths

"I am hoping that I will find some inner strength when I am out there, but right now, there is a lot of fear"

Actress Lucy Benjamin is worried about her hair going wild as she prepares to embark on her jungle adventure.

The mum-of-one said she is so concerned about the state of her frizzy hair if she doesn’t have any conditioner she might have to resort to rubbing leaves into it.

But the main thing that worries Lucy about going into the jungle is missing her daughter Bessie’s fourth birthday.

She also revealed that she won’t like it if her campmates are argumentative - and she is dreading emptying the toilet.

She says: "I couldn’t be without my hair conditioner because I’ve got naturally curly hair. I’m trying to wangle getting conditioner in because otherwise I’m going to look like a mad woman. At one point I thought, ‘I’m just going to pick leaves that have got balm in them and rub them in my hair, anything.’

Lucy says the thing she will miss most while she is in the jungle is her daughter but she is going to try not to bore her campmates by talking about her too much.

"Three days is the longest I have ever been away from my daughter-in terms of what I might get thrown at me-nothing is going to be worse than my heartbreak. From the point of me leaving her and getting on that plane out there, that is going to be the worst part for me. So, if I can deal with that and get through the other side when I land I’m going to have a great time and just say, ‘I’m going to give it my best shot.’

Gino D’Acampo
Age: 43
Occupation: Chef
Celebrity supporters: Claire Sweeney, Peter Andre, Phillip Schofield, Holly Willoughby, Ainsley Harriott
Phobias: Not keen on eating bugs.

Chef Gino D’Acampo admits he is used to taking charge in every area of life. He hopes his fellow celebs will see him as the natural leader of the group.

"I am a bit of a control freak," he says. "I have always been a leader. In my business, my restaurant, my family, with friends, I have always been the leader." Oh dear, that attitude is sure to lead to fireworks, isn’t it?

And if one thing puts Gino in a really foul mood - it’s a lack of shut-eye. "If I do not sleep well, that really annoys me - and you are going to have a bad day. I don’t mind if I don’t eat but I do mind if I don’t sleep."

Camilla Dallerup
Age: 35
Occupation: Dancer
Celebrity supporters: Roger Black, Tom Chambers, Gethin Jones, Austin Healey & Matt Foster
Phobias:  Creepy crawlies
Special Skills: Using dance to team build.

Get ready for tassels and taffeta! Glamorous dancer, teacher and model Camilla is planning her own jungle dancing competition.

"I definitely think dancing will need to be brought to the camp fire," says the Strictly Come Dancing star. "I think we will need some entertainment and exercise when we are out there, so as not to get too bored. I just hope they are up for a dance."

But foxtrot aside, the ballroom star admits it’s her love of food that may cause problems in Oz. Forget the dance floor - there’ll be murder in the jungle if this hot-footed star is left with an empty stomach!

My family are worried about how I’m going to react to spiders and they are obviously worried because I am quite picky

Sam Fox
Age: 43
Occupation: Singer, model
Celebrity supporters: Kim Wilde
Phobias: Spiders, snakes, rats - all creepy-crawlies

Super-fit Sam Fox is pretty brave when it comes to heights - but one look at a spider and she’ll be screaming for days.

"I’m not scared of much. I love all the high-wire stuff. I’ve done a lot of boot camps, a lot of mountain climbing, so I’m really into that kind of outdoor way of life." And Sam’s also not worried about coping with the basic facilities in the outback.

"That said, when there’s a spider in the house or my cat brings a baby rat or something in - it’s just the end of the world, I have to call somebody," she says. "Two women live in the house, so you can imagine the screams!"

George Hamilton
Age: 70
Occupation: Actor
Celebrity supporters: None
Phobias: everything

Actor George Hamilton says he can’t possibly keep up his debonair looks in the jungle - so he's been to the barber’s for a quick crew cut in preparation.

"There's no way I could have kept up my usual appearance in the jungle, at night my hair is woven by angels at home, so I had to have it shaved off," says George. "It was cut with a razor and now it looks like it has had Viagra: it’s all standing on end."

George adds that he would like to sneak a silk robe, a bottle of martini, a stuntman and a make-up man in to camp with him.

Stuart Manning
Age: 30
Occupation: Actor
Celebrity supporters; Craig Kelly, Hollyoaks cast
Phobias: None

Mothers' favourite Stuart Manning admits he is such a neat freak he will be doing everything he can to keep his little corner of the rainforest spick and span.

"I love tidy, tidy is good," he says. "Messy is bad. In my flat in London I have all my clothes - shirts, suits, jackets, everything - in order, and I vacuum once a week."

And the former Hollyoaks star is pretty confident that nothing will faze him in the jungle. "I have no fears or phobias, never have done," he says. "I suppose the dentist is my only phobia, I hate it. There’s not going to be any celebrity dentists out there, are there?" We’ll just have to wait and see.

Colin McAllister
Age: Old enough to know better
Occupation: Interior Designer
Celebrity supporters: Christine Hamilton, Tony Blackburn, Christopher Biggins, Jennie Bond
Phobias: None

Oh dear, we’re not sure Colin’s quite ready for jungle life yet. "It’s like a spa isn’t it?" asks the interior designer. "It’s the Skippy Spa where you just eat kangaroo and see the pounds come off - fantastic."

He and partner Justin are the first celebrity couple to go in to camp together. "Hopefully the viewers won’t think, ‘Let’s split them up,’ because the experiment is about how a couple will actually behave and how they will interact with all the other people," says Colin.

The style-conscious pair look set to make friends with clean queen Kim in camp. "We’re both a bit phobic about cleanliness," says Colin. "So hopefully we’ll be encouraging people to be as clean and tidy as possible so we’re not living in a pig sty."

Justin Ryan
Age: No idea.
Occupation: Interior Designer
Celebrity supporters: Anna Ryder Richardson, Linda Barker, Christopher Biggins, Jennie Bond
Phobias: Creepy-crawlies, anything that bites

Justin Ryan is one half of Colin & Justin: the TV duo famous for creating stunning interiors. So it's not surprising he thinks that he can make life more palatable in the jungle.

"We're going to do absolutely everything in our power to make ourselves and our jungle campmates as comfortable as possible," says Justin. "We are going to split the designer atom to make sure that this is a fun experience for everybody."

But how will Justin cope if Colin is voted out before him? "I firmly believe we will cope. It will be unusual because we haven’t spent time apart before. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, perhaps?"

Sabrina Washington
Age: 31
Occupation: Singer
Celebrity supporter: Reggie Yates
Phobias:  Planes and heights

There’s nothing Scandalous about our former Mis-Teeq singer, who's hoping to last a bit longer than a One Night Stand in Oz.

"My family are worried about how I’m going to react to spiders and they are obviously worried because I am quite picky about what I eat," says Sabrina. "So if I get one of the Bushtucker Trials, eating something different will be hard as I’m very particular."

And dads of the world can rejoice because Sabrina also hints we’re likely to see her showering under the waterfall. "I'm going to be packing my bikinis," says the svelt singer.

Jimmy White
Age: 47
Occupation: Professional snooker player
Celebrity supporters; Ronnie Wood
Phobias: Snakes

Right on cue, 'The Whirlwind' is blowing through camp - and he's sure to be a few shots ahead of everyone else in the jungle.

And when it comes to the Bushtucker Trials, he'll approach them the same way he would a professional snooker tournament. "I’ve won 10 ranking tournaments, 27 invitation tournaments - I’ve been doing it for 30 years."

"I’ll try and bring that sort of experience in to the camp and be positive and treat it as a competition," adds Jimmy. "To get further on in the competition you’ve got to switch off, eat the bugs and do the Trials because you’re helping your team."

Kim Woodburn
Age: 67
Occupation: ‘Queen of Clean’
Celebrity supporters: How Clean Is Your House? colleague Aggy MacKenzie
Phobias: Bug crawling on her whilst she sleeps.

Once Kim’s finished sprucing up the jungle you'll be able to eat your tea off it. "I don’t mind changing the toilet," says the scrubbing fan. "It doesn’t bother me in the least."

Having faced strangers’ dirty toilets armed only with a pair of marigolds and a toilet brush, it’s the thought of a Bushtucker Trial which is proving more daunting for Kim.

She says: "I wouldn’t want to eat bugs, I don’t think I could do that. And I wouldn’t be too keen about feeling around in a dark cave. I’m going to get that Trial now. But with that exception, I think I’m going to manage - famous last words."

Starts on Sunday 15th November on ITV1 & ITV2
