LYNNE’S DEPARTURE CAUSES CHAOSLynne’s departure from camp caused chaos among the celebrities because Janice and Rodney refused to say goodbye to her.After Ant and Dec announced that it would be Lynne leaving, Rodney and Janice walked off to the creek.Lynne shouted down after them: 'Its ok Janice and Rodney, I didn’t want to say goodbye anyway.'Janice shouted back: 'I’m just washing my hands – of you.' Later she told the Bush Telegraph: 'Ding dong the witch has left.'But Biggins wasn’t happy with the situation. He told Janice off for not saying goodbye, but she said: 'I had my reasons.'Biggins told her: 'You could have said goodbye.'But Janice said: 'She won’t even say hello to me.'
Biggins: 'All you had to say to be a good human being is goodbye.'
Rodney defended their behaviour and said: 'Christopher, let me tell you one thing: I’m not a hypocrite. I’m not going to stand here and pretend that I like that person. Sorry, that’s the way I am.'
Later he told the Bush Telegraph: 'I’m not happy about her leaving, I’m not sad about her leaving. I don’t give a toss.'
Gemma said: 'John, you didn’t get on with her but you swallowed your pride and said goodbye.'
John said: 'That’s because I’ve been brought up properly.'
Rodney said: 'I haven’t, I’m from a working class background and you look somebody in the face and you tell them the truth.'
Later Cerys couldn’t let the subject drop and had a chat with Rodney about human decency.
She said: 'Your whole thing about honesty is kind of rude sometimes because we all have to live in one world, so you can just have a little bit of common decency, sometimes it doesn’t cost much at all.
'It’s not really that big or clever just to be brutally honest all the time.'
Rodney said: 'Why?'
Cerys: 'It’s just not. You can’t all do it.'
Rodney: 'Why don’t you?'
Cerys: 'Because it would make for a horrible world, that’s why. You don’t have to go out and say, "I love you", or anything but just say, "I don’t get on with you but goodbye", that doesn’t take much effort does it?'
Rodney: 'I’ll tell you something, I’m going to talk about where I come from…'
Cerys: 'You blame everything on where you come from.'
Rodney: 'Well I do because that’s my environment.'
Cerys: 'But you’re a grown man with a big brain. If that’s wrong in your opinion, to have common decency, then that’s your opinion, but it’s not my opinion and I think that grown people going through their lives, the best thing you can do is be generous to people and understand they’re different. It doesn’t have any point to be rude and it’s the behaviour of a seven year old.'
Rodney: 'So everybody has to be nice?'
Biggins: 'No, that’s not the point. No-one has to be nice, there are people who you don’t like. For instance if I brought Janice and you to my house with Lynne for dinner and you had dinner, I’m sure you’d all behave sensibly.'
But Janice said: 'Personally, for me, I’m still not sorry that he didn’t say goodbye to her because I wouldn’t come to your house if you were having dinner with Lynne. I would not accept. In this situation rather than doing false bye-bye like you said…'
Cerys said: 'Yes, but running off to the creek?'
Janice said: 'I didn’t run off to the creek.'
Cerys: 'It was totally laughable, totally laughable, you both ran off to the creek and were laughing behind her back as she left, and that’s just silly.'
Rodney said: ‘I absolutely wasn’t laughing.'
Janice said: 'Our chemistry’s didn’t mix, clearly, and rather than me telling her to go f*ck herself, which I didn’t want to and I think that’s wrong, I bit my tongue and I walked away.
'I wasn’t ready to say bye and wave to her. I wasn’t ready to go, "Bye, I’m going to miss you" and wave. I’m not ready to do it.'
Cerys told the Bush Telegraph: 'We have known each other for two weeks and he’s presumptuous about everybody else’s feeling and cagey about his own feelings and then he blames it on his working class background. There’s great men out there with working class backgrounds that act like gentlemen.'
Biggins said: 'It’s a game and he’s the biggest player of all.'
