Gemma has revealed that spending time away from the mystery man she has been seeing has made her realise how she feels about him. In a chat with Anna, Rodney and Lynne, Anna said:
“There’s nothing like being away from someone to make you realise how much you love them.”
Gemma said: “That’s what I was saying the other day.”
Lynne: “Now she’s been here, she’s realised how she feels about her partner.”
Rodney: “Oh really, a change of view?”
Gemma: “Yes, for the good though, definitely for the good.”
Earlier in the chat Gemma said she never trusts anyone after being cheated on in the past. She said: “I was in a relationship with a guy a while ago and he was with somebody else at the same time, and he couldn’t understand what the problem was. He was like, ‘but it was just the once and it didn’t mean anything’, but I was like, ‘but you have given her half of me, because you’re with me and she’s experienced what I love about you and why I’m with you,’ someone else has experienced it and I was just like, ‘no’.”
Rodney: “And you were in love with this person?”
Gemma: “Yes, completely. Now it’s kind of toughened me up to not accept it anymore. I have never trusted anyone 100%. Only my mum. Family, yes, boys, never 100%. The guy who I’m with now makes me feel so secure, I have never felt as secure, but I’m still…I don’t give…”
Rodney: “What’s that based on? Your experience?”
Gemma: “Yes, probably. I suppose fear of getting hurt or let down. If you don’t give all yourself there’s nothing really lost, but then you’re missing out on the giving side I suppose. It’s difficult. But he’s a good lad.”
