Carly told how she got stressed out last year because she had too much too soon.
"Money can be a burden, thatâs why I got stressed last year. I had too much too soon. I had a massive house that I couldnât control or clean, it took all day. I could choose what I wanted and so I ended up indecisive I can have anything but if youâve got a budget to work around itâs easier.
At my age I can still take it or leave it. Of course if all my friends are staying in a three star hotels, Iâll stay there and you do notice the difference. I still live a very practical life, if I want something nice like a piece of jewellery Iâll wait and ask for it for my birthday, I donât just go out and buy it."
Carly was talking to Brian who was asking her what it was like to have such wealth.
He said: "Iâm feeling strange because I donât have much money. Iâm better off than most people but listening to you lot discussing exotic holidays and things Iâm thinking that Iâm not jealous or resentful, it must be wonderful being able to do what you want, it gives you freedom."
Carly said she never wanted to lose the value of money because a footballerâs career is short. "If I have bought something really expensive I think how far could that go, when you see 5p a day can help a child I think you canât always think like that because giving away all your money still wouldnât help the world. Itâs give and take and as long as your conscience is clear then you reach a happy medium." She added: "But Iâm big on recycling."
