Gary Barlow has in a new interview with the Daily Star, revealed he was offered to become a mentor on The Voice UK for more than one of the series that have aired on BBC One to-date.
He explained: "I feel like I have been on the best talent show, which was X Factor. I have been asked a few times about The Voice but I don't think it is for me."
The news comes after rumours began circulating that Robbie Williams had been approached by ITV to appear in the new version of the show when it makes the move to the new network in 2017, but ITV have said not a single decision regarding coaches has yet been made.
Earlier this year there were also rumours about Gary launching his own talent show, with sources claiming he'd be bringing something new to the BBC in direct competition with former boss Simon Cowell.
An insider told The Sun in February: "This is Gary's own format that will be made by the BBC entertainment team.
"If it is a success he could make hundreds of millions of pounds around the world like Cowell has with X Factor and Britain's Got Talent.
"Cowell is going to be furious because he thinks it was X Factor that gave Gary the experience [of] working on a show like this. Now he's gone and set up a direct rival.
"He's always been paranoid about Gary trying to set up a huge entertainment company incorporating music and TV, which seems to be happening."
Mirror Celeb confirmed the news with a BBC spokesperson, who said: "This is one of a number of ideas being considered for Saturday nights on BBC One and nothing has been green lit yet."
The Voice UK's final series on BBC One comes to an end next Saturday, April 9 at 7pm on BBC One.
