Craig Revel Horwood's father has died aged 74.
The 'Strictly Come Dancing' judge is believed to be in mourning after his dad Phil, with whom he has had a turbulent relationship, reportedly passed away from cancer on Monday (21.12.15), two days after the latest series of the show came to an end, according to The Sun newspaper.
It's not known what form of cancer the former Lieutenant in the Royal Australian Navy died of, but the 50-year-old dancer previously opened up about his father's struggle with skin cancer in his 2008 autobiography 'All Balls and Glitter.'
But it wasn't just his dad's health the tough-talking choreographer discussed in his memoir as he also explained their strained relationship due to his battle with alcoholism.
He claimed at the time: "We grew up surrounded by verbal abuse and shouting. As soon as you walked through the door, you knew it was going to start.
"It didn't occur to me to complain about being bullied because there were just too many problems already.
"I'd do my paper run in the morning, go to school, do my chores, go to dance class, go to bed. I basically left home at 16, at the first opportunity, but I always thought my dad's drinking would come to some sort of explosive finale."
However, it's believed Craig reconciled with his dad in late 2008 after they came face-to-face at a family wedding.
