Craig Revel Horwood has said that the panel on this year's The X Factor are "desperate".
The Strictly Come Dancing regular also said tat Cheryl Fernandez-Versini isn't impartial enough to give a fair critique on the show.
Responding to her comments about winning the BBC One ballroom show as not meaning or offering as much as taking home the X Factor crown, Craig explained to heat magazine: "I think it is sour grapes. As long as she keeps crying, that's all the audience wants from Cheryl.
"I think Simon [Cowell] made her say it - they're getting desperate for viewers so I think they'll use anything they can.
"[As for Cheryl's judging], I think if you get that attached to people it does harm your judging skills."
He also went on to say that his show is more "fun" than the ITV rival.
"'Strictly' doesn't pick people up and drop them. And you get to learn to dance. It's a lot more fun, it's not as serious."
Craig does still watch The X Factor though - to scout for talent.
"I'm on the lookout for new talent for my theatre shows. So they do all the work for me."
