The popular reality show - which first aired in 2005 - was axed by Sky in 2013 following nine series' but is now being brought back for a 10-part series on Lifetime.

Koulla Anastasi, director of programming for Lifetime at A+E Networks UK, said: "Lifetime is delighted to be working with Thumbs Up to bring the brand new revamped series of 'Britain's Next Top Model' to viewers next year, through this exclusive UK deal."

The "revamped" version of the show - which is set to start production in September - will reportedly feature "some of the UK's biggest names in fashion", although the judges for the series have not yet been revealed.

The new series will also incorporate an integrated social media campaign to encourage viewers to get involved with the unfolding action throughout the competition.

In the last series of the show in 2013, the line-up included models Elle Macpherson and Tyson Beckford along with singing star Dannii Minogue.

The show was responsible for the launch of Abbey Clancy's career after she finished as a runner-up in the 2006 series, going on to secure several lucrative modelling contracts alongside a victory on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
