Christopher Biggins has entered the 'Celebrity Big Brother' house and been named the show's secret boss - but all is not what it seemed.
The 67-year-old entertainer - who was the first star to enter the famous abode on Thursday (28.07.16) evening - was told he had been chosen by the public to take charge of the house, have immunity and nominate housemates for eviction during a silent disco after everyone had entered.
However, Big Brother then transmitted a message to the other housemates in which they were told it was all a hoax that they were in on.
As host Emma Willis explained: "It will be the housemates job to get nominated by the secret boss and if they do, they will gain immunity. If [Biggins] keeps it a secret, [he] will also be immune from the first eviction."
Earlier in the evening, the former 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' winner admitted he "couldn't wait" to get in the house.
He said: "I'm very excited, I love 'Big Brother', it's fantastic.
"I don't think you know how to play anything it's a game, all day I've been dying to get in here."
His enthusiasm was shared by Samantha Fox, who has been a regular viewer of the fly-on-the-wall show since it launched.
She said: "I've been watching the show for 16 years and I've always fancied being in it, I can't wait."
But their excitement wasn't shared by all the housemates, with outspoken broadcaster James Whale reluctant to enter and Grant Bovey seemingly unconvinced about his chances on the show.
Asked if he thought he could win, he said: "The chance of me winning is not... that would be beyond my wildest dreams, I think you'd be a very strange person if you came in here and wanted to lose, it doesn't make sense."
The full 'Celebrity Big Brother' summer 2016 line-up also includes former 'X Factor' contestants Katie Waissel and Chloe Khan, aka Chloe Mafia, ex-'EastEnders' actor Ricky Norwood, US singers Aubrey O'Day and Frankie Grande, 'Storage Hunters' star Heavy D, Lewis Bloor from 'The Only Way is Essex', 'Ex on the Beach's Stephen Bear, 'Geordie Shore' star Marnie Simpson, 'Mob Wives' cast member Renee Graziano, and 'Loose Women' panellist Saira Khan.
