Big Brother USA is back for a new season later this month, and with the reveal of fourteen new housemates was the surprise that one of them - Audrey Middleton - is the first ever transgendered housemate to play the game.
As a digital media consultant from Villa Rica, Georgia, Audrey promises to shake things up in the hopes of going home with the $500,000 grand prize.
Speaking to TMZ, she said: "I'm bringing in a very versatile perspective, a character that hasn't been brought before. Nobody's off limits. I'm going to do whatever I have to do.
"I kind of said I'm going to play like Dexter Morgan would. On the outside he's calm, total sociopath on the inside - I'm not a sociopath! But I'm not a wallflower by any means. No emotion.
"I won't say it won't tug on my heartstrings a little bit but they got to go."
Big Brother USA works differently to other Big Brother formats across the world, allowing total control to the houseguests rather than the public, pitting them against each other and encouraging manipulative, clever and tricky gameplay.
Each week a Head of Household is crowned, who has to name two housemates for potential eviction before a random ballot decides who plays in a competition to potentially save one of the nominees.
At the end of each week, a houseguest is sent packing, though the show is known to include double and instant eviction at times to increase the level of drama and action.
Season 17 of Big Brother USA premieres over two nights on June 24 and 25 with host Julie Chen on CBS.
