Rumours are circulating that Big Brother Australia's "two new housemates" will actually be a pair of poodles, going into the house as pets.

Channel Nine has made no comment about this, but the canines are said to be going into the famous household in Tuesday night's show.

There's no word yet on how long they'll stay for or if specific housemates will be in charge of looking after them, but the move is reminiscent of past seasons where pets have also been put into the game - just never this early.

Meanwhile, with Dion and Jason as the new Heads of House, they made their first decision to take $30,000 from the prize fund and swap out two people from their fellow house pairings, with all of the pairings then playing for the money tomorrow night.

They chose Cat to swap places with Ryan, which means Sam and Ryan and Cat and Travis are now working together for the rest of their time in the game.

Big Brother Australia continues Tuesday night on Channel Nine.
