Saffia’s mother has defended her decision to go into the ‘Big Brother’ house.
I went to ante-natal classes with Saffia. She is not somebody who would just desert her children
The Nottingham-born single mother has come under fire from children’s charities for leaving Millie, seven, and Albie, 13 months, at home while she pursues fame as a ‘Big Brother’ housemate.
Her mother, Lindsey Corden - who is looking after the children while Saffia, 27, is on the show - has, however, described her as a "fantastic mother" and said she is being unfairly targeted.
Lindsay said: "Some people have been shocked by her decision, but what about parents who send their children to boarding school, or mothers who walk out on their children full stop?"
A friend of the reality TV contestant, Kylie Williams, added: "I went to ante-natal classes with Saffia. She is not somebody who would just desert her children."
Saffia was the first person in the house to be given photographs she had packed to take with her on Monday morning after she had cried saying how she missed her children.
She then proudly showed the snaps to her fellow housemates.
After seeing a photo of Albie Noirin said: "He’s got her eyes."
Sree was, however, shocked to find out Saffia’s two children are by different fathers.
