America's Next Top Model will come to an end with its current season, it's been revealed, with The CW announcing yesterday (October 14) that the Tyra Banks led competition would not be given a 23rd season.

Network boss Mark Pedowitz comments: "America's Next Top Model was a successful franchise for two networks, first at UPN and then The CW, and it became not just a ratings hit, but a global phenomenon.

"I want to thank Tyra and Ken for all their years of success in establishing a show that was not just popular in the US, but all across the world."

In celebration of the show, The CW is putting together a retrospective programme to broadcast in 2016.

Versions of the series have been created in the UK, France, Australia, Germany and Russia following the pop culture success of the original.
