X Factor

John and Edward were thrilled last night (07.11.09) after Simon Cowell finally praised them on ‘The X Factor’.

The Irish twins - who have divided the nation - performed the title track from hit movie ‘Ghostbusters’ and were amazed their harshest critic actually found something nice to say.

He told them: "It was sort of good. This was actually a good song for you. It was more entertaining than the karaoke stuff, so well done."

Although the 18-year-old brothers won over Simon, they still faced boos from the live audience as many think they shouldn’t be in the competition because they don’t have great singing voices.

Meanwhile, John and Edward’s mentor Louis Walsh clashed with Simon again after he accused the music mogul of cheating once more.

The Westlife manager said Simon "bent the rules" for letting his act Jamie Archer sing ‘Crying’ from the film ‘Gummo’ because it was movie week and nobody had heard of it.

But Simon hit back, saying: "It doesn’t matter that you’ve never heard of it.. it’s not about the film, it’s about the song."

Lucie Jones won praise from all the judges, while 16-year-old Lloyd Daniels - who was in the bottom two last week - was told he was out of his depth.

The next act to leave the ITV talent show will be revealed tonight (08.11.09).
