"Dancing With the Stars," the remaining four couples had two performances each, of the 24 scores given over the course of the evening, half of them were 10s. (Ten of them were nines and the last two were eights.)
The scoring reflected an end-of-season score inflation, but to be honest the main reason for the higher scores came down to excellent performances.
As expected Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough continued to dominate scoring a perfect 30 points for their stunning and incredibly sexy Argentine tango and only dropping one point (29 points) for their cha-cha.
Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya hung on to the pairs coat tails, with 29 points for an upbeat foxtrot which was followed by a paso doble in which Evan, portrayed the muscular presence required for the dance earning a perfect 30.
Close on the heals of the leaders were Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who managed 27 points for an elegant waltz followed by strong paso doble which gave the pair two nines and a 10. Erin's confidence has grown over the past two weeks turning her into a real contender for the finals.
Chad Ochocinco struggled the most this week but that said he was right up there with Erin getting 27 points for the waltz, but following a slight stumble during his samba, he and partner Cheryl only managed 25 points. In the context of the competition it has to be noted Chad is the only celebrity with no prior dance training left in the show, a point commented on by Len Goodman.
While on these little exposes Tom Bergeron pointed out that all the remaining couples have at some time led the audience voting at least once.
So Chad is the most obvious contestant in danger to miss out on the Finale, Evan should be safe as should Nicole Erin on dancing skills alone should also be safe but it all comes down to the audience vote.
