100 Voices of Gospel and Mel and Jamie have made it through to the 'Britain's Got Talent' final.
The vocal group - who had been Alesha Dixon's Golden Buzzer act - were the first to learn they had made it through on Sunday (21.05.16) night's results show after receiving the most public votes, with the judges then left to decide who to give the next slot to; the mother and son duo, or singing sensation Kathleen Jenkins.
Both Alesha and David Walliams opted for the cleaner, while Amanda Holden opted for Mel and Jamie.
Amanda commented: "It's an awful decision. You're basically the same, the same standard, fantastic. But I think for me it's the [mother/son] relationship."
Head judge Simon Cowell's vote went to Mel and Jamie, meaning the public had to decide who went through, and it was subsequently revealed the pair had scored the highest number of phone votes for their performance earlier in the evening, securing them a slot in next Saturday's (28.05.16) final.
The result came as a shock to many as Kathleen had been considered one of the favourites to win the competition and even Mel - who performed Miley Cyrus' 'The Climb' with her son - was shocked.
She said: "I'm absolutely gobsmacked. I can't believe it."
And their performance was slammed by many fans on Twitter for being "weird".
One user said: "A guy that age singing and holding hands with his mummy on stage is just too cringeworthy to watch (also not great singing at all) BGT.(sic)"
Another wrote: "Bit weird mother and son singing a love song together looking longingly into each others eyes. @BGT.(sic)"
Monday (23.05.16) night's semi-final will see Simon's Golden Buzzer act, dance troupe Boogie Storm, contest for a place in the final along with Alex Malana, The Garnett Family, Ian and Anne Marshall, Mythical PSM, Another Kind of Blue, Rachael Wooding, Shannon and Peter, Vitaly Voronko and performer Wayne Woodward.
