Tonight (September 9th, 2019), The Real Housewives of Cheshire return for their landmark 10th season, with brand new face Leilani Dowding joining the fold. Ahead of the big premiere, we got the chance to chat to all of the cast about the drama, alliances and chaos we should expect from the latest batch of episodes. Here's what they had to say...
Leilani
How have you found filming your first season of the RHOCH?
It is very intense but it has been a lot of fun. It is obviously quite full-on being surrounded by very strong, opinionated and different women.
Which members of the cast did you find most welcoming?
Definitely Ester and Hanna. I have really found that they have been the most open and sweetest. They are very kind-hearted and sweet people.
What should we expect from you throughout the season?
You can expect me to be very open about my life with Billy – I really do open up about quite private things. Obviously, being around eight people in a very intense way, you can expect fireworks. I am very much a girl’s girl but you can still expect fireworks.
Dawn
What can you tell us about the dramatics coming in the new season?
You have eight strong women together, there is always going to be drama! New faces, new arguments and new disagreements. Same old in Cheshire!
Have there been any shifts in alliances you can tell us a little bit about?
There have been. Perla and I are now good friends – never thought I would say that. I really like her and we are very similar in terms of our personalities. She is very intelligent and witty – I like her a lot and we have become good friends. Obviously, me and Rachel will never be anything but friends – she is my closest friend.
Leilani joined the show this season – what do you make of her addition to the series?
I don’t really know her to be honest. I think she has taken a dislike to me. There are plenty of people within the group that she can chat to and be friends with – she chose the fact that I am not one of them so that is her choice. I am not short of friends or being busy!
Tanya
What can you tell us about the dramatics coming in the new season?
It will be good to watch – even I was entertained!
Have there been any shifts in alliances you can tell us a little bit about?
Oh my gosh yes! Myself and Hanna… this is the one I am most shocked at the most. And Dawn and Perla!
Leilani joined the show this season – what do you make of her addition to the series?
I think she is an amazing addition to the series! She is opinionated and takes no rubbish – so she is perfect for the series!
Rachel
What can you tell us about the dramatics coming in the new season?
I can tell you that we have a new housewife who is rather opinionated!
Have there been any shifts in alliances you can tell us a little bit about?
Obviously, it is great for me that Tanya and Dawn continue to get on. Because, although they never made it difficult for me, it is nice now to stand in a three and all come together and talk. I really love that as I love Tanya and Dawn. Perla and Dawn are very close now – this isn’t very surprising to me as they are both kind of similar – I can see them having a great friendship. Possibly Ester’s nose is slightly out of joint...
Leilani joined the show this season – what do you make of her addition to the series?
Leilani was initially very nice and now she is very opinionated of others, but doesn’t necessarily see that she is possibly the same way [as them].
Perla
What can you tell us about the dramatics coming in the new season?
Well well well - I am telling you what – I cannot wait for this new series to come out because everyone is going to be absolutely glued to their sofas. You think you have seen drama in Cheshire? This is the drama in Cheshire baby! I am literally still trying to figure out what the hell is going on here – I cannot get my head around it. I don’t know where to look – it is crazy, fun and a lot of drama!
Have there been any shifts in alliances you can tell us a little bit about?
Oh God yeah – to my surprise. Honestly, if you asked me a few months ago, 'how are things going with Dawn and will you ever be friends?' I would have said 'What? No!' Well let me tell you I must swallow word by word as we have become best friends. You know what? I always knew there was so many great qualities about that woman but there are even more. Yes, she is fiery and yes, she has a temper, but so do I. This is the thing with Dawn; she is not scared to tell you how it is and I am not scared of saying it how it is either. I am very happy; we are getting on and there are a few other friendships that were strong and they aren’t necessarily that strong any more…
Leilani joined the show this season – what do you make of her addition to the series?
Leilani is doing a great job this series. She seems like a nice girl. As soon as I saw her I liked her. I must be completely honest, I am not sure what her agenda is and where she is going with her opinions. I am a little bit confused about her, although I do like her. I do need to get to know her better!
Ester
What can you tell us about the dramatics coming in the new season?
The drama is on another level and Cheshire is about to explode!
Have there been any shifts in alliances you can tell us a little bit about?
There have 100% been shifts in alliances and you will be shocked by some of them.
Leilani joined the show this season – what do you make of her addition to the series?
I think she is fantastic! She has brought drama, sweetness and a sort of luxury to the show as she is so beautiful.
Hanna
What can you tell us about the dramatics coming in the new season?
I think whenever a new person arrives and becomes part of the group, it does change the dynamic of the group. I do think Leilani is lovely and I really do get on with her but she has made her mark and it has altered the dynamic.
Have there been any shifts in alliances you can tell us a little bit about?
I am the most surprised at Dawn and Perla and how their relationship has blossomed. Obviously, they started off so rocky – Dawn was very anti-Perla and they didn’t really get on. It is quite nice that that has made a complete U-turn and they are getting on well. That is probably my biggest surprise within the group. Myself and Tanya didn’t start off very well – we weren’t the best of friends and we didn’t get off to the best start. It has been really nice, therefore, this series where we both have collectively decided to put the issues behind us and move forward. That has been great.
Leilani joined the show this season – what do you make of her addition to the series?
I think Leilani has been a great addition to Housewives. I think she is very confident, opinionated and she stands by what she thinks. I think that those things are key in this group of women as everyone is so opinionated. You are in a group of alpha-females so it is important you can hold your own and I really do think Leilani is doing this – she is handling the situation very well.
What was your highlight from last season?
Even though it did all go completely wrong in Dubai, we did have a good time. Pre-dinner party, we all had a really good time together. When we were all in the desert together and when we rode the camels – that was probably my highlight.
Seema
What can you tell us about the drama coming in the new season?
We have a new Housewife… just as you thought there couldn’t be anymore drama. Leilani has been thrown in the mix so you will have to watch and see what happens!
Have there been any shifts in alliances you can tell us a little bit about?
There are so many shifts this season but the one I will mention is Hanna’s long-standing feud with Tanya takes a huge twist!
Leilani joined the show this season – what do you make of her addition to the series?
She is a great addition. Leilani may look a little timid but, let me tell you, she is not scared to voice her opinions. Let’s put it this way - she gives as good as she gets.
