One Direction will join the likes of Elton John on this year's live final for 'The X Factor'.
After finishing third on the show in 2010 they've become one of the biggest bands in history, and will perform their new single 'Midnight Memories' at London's Wembley Arena on Sunday December 15, while Elton will duet with Gary Barlow for 'Face to Face' - their collaboration.
Katy Perry - who wowed audiences earlier in the series with a performance of her hit 'Roar' - will also take to the stage for the event when she plays her latest track 'Unconditionally'.
The Killers will roll back the years to perform several hits including their 2003 track 'Mr. Brightside' and 'Human' on the first leg of the final on Saturday December 14, and singer/songwriter Tom Odell will crown his year in style by performing.
One Direction - Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne - have remained close to the show since finishing third on the seventh series in 2010 and current 'X Factor' favourite Sam Bailey recently admitted she would love to see Harry become a mentor on the programme.
She said: "I was having a fat day and thinking I was going home and Harry found me upset in the corridor, put his arm around me and said, 'Come with me.' He was really sweet, hugged me and said, 'Sam Bailey, I want to see you go out there and smash it.' He'd make a good mentor in a few years."
