Will Mellor's niece has joined 'Hollyoaks'.
Kiara Mellor made her debut in the Channel 4 show this week as Jorgie Porter's on-screen daughter Kathleen-Angel, and it has been revealed her uncle is the 'Oaks' legend, who shot to fame in the soap and is now starring in 'Coronation Street.
Taking to his Instagram Story, Will - who played James 'Jambo' Bolton in the Channel 4 soap from 1995 to 1998 and again in 2004 - posted: "So proud of my little niece Kiara! On @hollyoaksofficial where it all began for me! (sic)"
Kathleen-Angel appeared in the Hollyoaks village in Wednesday's first-look E4 episode, when Nana McQueen (Diane Langton) picked her up from the airport and she reunited with her mum Theresa McQueen.
Jorgie - who returned to the soap in October to coincide with the show's 25th anniversary - admitted she loves working alongside Kiara.
She said: "I just have the best fun with Kiara - she's amazing. I've only done one scene with her so far but I really want to work with her more.
"Her attitude and her McQueen-ness is just spot on. I couldn't have asked for a better little actress."
But Jorgie, 33, admitted the cast haven't been able to work with some of their younger co-stars as much in the past 12 months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
She added: "I love working with kids anyway, but because of COVID, we're not allowed them on set that much.
"Working with kids is really fun because they just look up to you like you know everything!
"I'm like, 'I don't know anything, but I'm going to pretend that I do!' "
