Will Mellor has said he'd like to play a soldier in his next role.

Revealing he's keen to realise his ambition of playing an action hero before it's too late or he becomes too old, he explained to BANG Showbiz: "I've always wanted to do something based around the army or war. I'd love to get all the gear on and get trained up. Give me a gun and send me out on set - I'd love it!"

He continued: "I'd love to be an action hero, as a kid that's what you dream about doing. I'd love to be in an action film set around the war or something like that.

"There are things I'd like to do and hopefully one day I'll get a chance to do them, before I get too old and I can't run anymore."

Currently he's making a drama series called 'No Offence' set to air in 2015, whilst also filming another series of BBC drama 'In The Club', following the lives of couples who meet at an antenatal class.

Will wants to also appear on the stage and says: "I'm just looking for the right one and hopefully the timing. It would be great to go on stage."
