will.i.am hopes his next stint on The Voice will see him introduce new catchphrases.
The Black Eyed Peas star is known for telling hopefuls their performance has been "dope" and says he has been expanding his vocabulary and is looking forward to establishing some new catchphrases on the next season of the show.
He said: "I have a new word collection. And I have some great new phrases and cool metaphors. I'm trying to keep a healthy vocabulary.
"[But] there is no new dope. It's always dope"
And despite his love of the word "dope", will revealed he was initially banned from using it by show bosses because of it's use as a slang term for marijuana but his convincing argument meant they changed their minds.
He told heat magazine: "During the first couple of tapings of 'The Voice', they said I couldn't say it. I was like, 'What? Why? I've been saying it since I was 13!' And they said that in Britain it means drugs. I was like, 'No, dope is dopamine, which is released in your brain when you like things. If you have less dopamine receptors it causes you to be depressed and that's when you take drugs.'
"I was like, 'Boom, how you like them facts?' So they let me say dope."
