With the world struck by the awful news that horror icon Wes Craven had died following a battle with brain cancer, questions were raised about what exactly would happen to projects left incomplete following his passing.
Under an overall deal at Universal Cable Productions at the time of his death, Craven was part of plans to turn his 1991 film The People Under the Stairs into a series which he would write and direct along with Daryl Gregory book adaptation We Are All Completely Fine.
A statement from Universal Cable Productions (UCP) has been released, which confirms that his projects will continue.
"Wes Craven was a master artist, a gentleman and it was our pleasure to work with him. It is our intention to bring to life all the projects Wes developed at Universal Cable Productions. Thankfully these projects have benefitted greatly from his development and guidance since their inception. They will continue in his honor and spirit."
Syfy also noted their love for Craven in their own statement, adding that they "will continue to develop 'The People Under the Stairs' and 'We Are All Completely Fine' - projects to which Wes had already contributed so greatly - in his spirit."
No further updates on the projects were given, but it's going to be big news for Craven's fans to know that some of his final projects will still see the light of day.
Craven was also working as an executive producer on MTV's Scream television series - the first season of which concludes this week in the US.
