Wayne Lineker looks set to be axed from 'The Only Way is Essex'.

The bar owner - who is the brother of retired professional footballer Gary Lineker - made his debut on the ITV2 show's 'The Only Way is Marbs' special episode last month, but he is not said to be in producers' plans for any future episodes.

A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "There are no current plans to film with Wayne.

"We're focusing on other stories playing out. But the door is always open."

During Wayne's 'TOWIE' debut he clashed with Chloe Sims, branding her an "original Essex girl" while enjoying a meal with the brunette beauty and co-star Lauren Pope.

Chloe hit back at 50-year-old Wayne, calling him "an OAP and an a******e" before storming off.

He was expected to be the ideal replacement for Mick Norcross - who quit the show in March after reportedly being furious with show bosses for using his Sugar Hut nightclub as a battleground for the programme's stars - and it was thought he would be featured opening a new bar in Essex.

What's more, producers were hoping that by signing up Wayne as a regular on the series it might encourage Gary and his wife Danielle to make a cameo in the show.
