Set in present-day Minnesota, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers is to introduce a whole bunch of up-and-coming young actors in an original series, which aims to breathe new life into the beloved franchise.
One of those newcomers is Brady Noon, who takes on the role of 12-year-old Evan Morrow. Though talented in the sport of hockey, he's unceremoniously cut from the Mighty Ducks, and so sets out with his mother Alex (Lauren Graham) to build a new team of misfits, challenging the cut-throat culture of youth sports today.
With Gordon Bombay (the returning Emilio Estevez) on their side, they help their competitors rediscover the joys of playing simple for love of the game, above all else.
Teasing the upcoming Disney+ original series, the streaming platform, as part of their first-ever TCA, dropped some fantastic first look images, as well as the official trailer for the show.

Having the Mighty Ducks as the ‘villains’ of the show is certainly a bold choice, but we’re sure it’s one that’s going to pay off in the end. As is often the case with a project like this, the importance of the messaging for younger audiences will be where it really succeeds.
Rising stars Maxwell Simkins, Swayam Bhatia, Luke Islam, Kiefer O'Reilly, Taegen Burns, Bella Higginbotham and DJ Watts all also feature in the series.
ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios, produce the series, with Mighty Ducks original creator, writer and executive producer Steve Brill back as co-creator and executive producer.
Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yusa join him as co-creators, also serving as executive producers and showrunners. Michael Spiller works as executive producer and director on the series, with James Griffiths serving as director and executive producer on the Pilot.
Actors Estevez and Graham have been given executive producer and co-executive producer roles respectively, with George Heller and Brad Petrigala of Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and Jon Avnet and Jordan Kerner as non-writing executive producers.
The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers premieres Friday, March 26th, 2021, exclusive to Disney+. Arriving 29 years after the original film (which dropped in 1992), there are going to be a lot of eyes on the series once that date rolls around…
