Max George had to lie to get his place on 'Celebrity Masterchef'.
The 34-year-old pop star - who is best known as a member of boyband The Wanted - has competed in the latest series of the BBC cookery show alongside the likes of 'Love Island' star Dani Dyer, 'Strictly Come Dancing' professional Dianne Buswell and former 'Loose Women' panellist Jamelia but admitted that he doesn't really cook anything at home despite what he told show bosses.
Speaking on ITV's 'Lorraine', he told stand-in host Christine Lampard: "It was tough. It was having other people around you who were clearly very competitive and it would be having Gregg Wallace or John Torode appear out of nowhere like a puppet on your shoulder and a spoon would come over out of nowhere and they'd start tasting. It was a great experience, though. I hadn't cooked too much before I went in. I think I was one of the later additions and on the questionnaire, it said I had to have cooked a certain amount of times a week. So I said I cooked at least four nights a week at home.
The 'Glad You Came' hitmaker - who has been in a relationship with former 'EastEnders' actress Maisie Smith, 22, for almost a year - went on to explain that he has been having his actual kitchen renovated for a while now so has been relying on takeaways but doesn't cook more than "four times a month" anyway.
He said: "I haven't had a kitchen for over a year because I'm renovating so it's all been takeouts. I probably don't cook at home more than four times a month. But I got it!You definitely learn as you go along and you learn things about food that you never would have thought before, all spices and stuff. I definitely learned something but it was very nerve-wracking and stressful!"
