EastEnders' Bobby Brazier confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing

The 'EastEnders' actor - who plays Freddie Slater in the BBC One soap - cannot wait to start training with his professional partner, and he is relishing the chance to dance in front of an audience.

Bobby - who is the son of TV presenter Jeff Brazier and late 'Big Brother' legend Jade Goody - said: "I’m so excited to be part of the 'Strictly' line up, I can’t wait to start training like a professional dancer and adding a few moves to my locker.

"I'm looking forward to performing in-front of everyone, it's going to be so much fun!"

News of Bobby's 'Strictly' stint was revealed on 'BBC Breakfast', just minutes after it was revealed on the same show that former 'Coronation Street' star Ellie Leach is also taking part in this year's series.

She said: "It still doesn’t feel real that I’m going to be doing 'Strictly'.

"It’s always been a dream of mine, so I guess dreams really do come true!"

In between the two 'BBC Breakfast' announcements, 'Strictly' super-fans tuned into the BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast show to hear the news that world and Paralympic champion swimmer and cyclist Jody Cundy has also joined the line-up.

He said: "Excited to be welcomed into the 'Strictly' family and throw myself head first into the world of ballroom dancing.

"So far away from what I’m used to, but I’m looking forward to the challenge and pushing myself way out of my comfort zone, especially as I’m always last onto the dance floor.

"Can’t wait to get stuck in, bring on the glitter and sequins!"

Other stars taking part in the upcoming series include Emmerdale's Adam Thomas, BBC Asian Network's Nikita Kanda, 'The One Show' presenter Angela Scanlon, 'Sherlock' actress Amanda Abbington, and broadcaster Angela Rippon.

What's more, Zara McDermott will become the first-ever former 'Love Island' star to swap the dating show's villa for the 'Strictly' ballroom.

West End star Layton Williams, Channel 4 newsreader Krishnan Guru-Murthy, and comedian Eddie Kadi are also taking part in the forthcoming season.
