Debuting to huge critical acclaim in both the UK and US last year, Victoria will return to the small screen tonight (August 27) with creator and executive producer Daisy Goodwin writing the eight new episodes once more.

Jenna Coleman stars in the titular role, with Tom Hughes also reprising his role as Prince Albert. The two characters will face more challenges than ever before, both at home and abroad in the new series, which takes place a month after the events of the first series.

With Victoria established as a working mother, but still looking to balance her responsibilities as Queen and as a parent, it’s Prince Albert who’s struggling the most in trying to find a role for himself alongside his powerful wife.

This series, Dame Diana Rigg joins the cast as the Duchess of Buccleuch; a preview for which you can check out below:
