Vas J Morgan is working to improve diversity on 'The Only Way Is Essex'.
The 31-year-old reality TV star recently called out his former show for a lack of diversity but he has praised production company Lime Pictures for taking his concerns on board and working with him to be more inclusive.
He told heat magazine: "We have been working actively to try to make a change, not just on 'TOWIE', but across all of Lime Pictures' TV shows. They really heard my concerns and they really did implement change. That's been amazing. About 10 other production companies reached out to me to help on their shows too. So I've been working with them, trying to help with diversity and inclusion. It has opened a lot of ears to some of the injustices that not only I face but other cast and crew members may have faced over the years and been too scared to speak out about."
Despite his criticism, Vas doesn't regret taking part in 'TOWIE' but he wishes he had been true to himself on the show.
He said: "I'm very proud that I was a representative for black, gay boys all over the country. It was really important for me to be that representative that I didn't have so I will never, ever regret that. Am I disappointed in how I've represented black gay people? Yeah, but that was out of my control. At least now, people know they have a chance to be on TV, should they want to be."
