Newly-single Vanessa Feltz "sobbed on the floor" while filming 'Celebs Go Dating'.
The broadcaster threw herself back into the dating world for the first time in 17 years to film the E4 show following the collapse of her relationship with fiance Ben Ofoedu amid a cheating scandal - and she's admitted putting herself back out there again was extremely tough because she's still hurting from the split.
She told The Sun newspaper: "I opened up. I’ve been sobbing all over the floor. It's been therapeutic, a bit of crying. It's excellent."
Vanessa, 61, went on to call her break-up a "romantic implosion" adding that anyone who has been through the end of a relationship will understand how she feels.
She said: "I had a romantic implosion so I needed to heal a broken heart. I’m alright. It’s not easy. I feel exactly how someone else would feel."
When asked about how her dates went, she joked: "I behaved immaculately ... I think I was a bit saucy."
Before embarking on her first date in nearly 20 years, Vanessa gave an update to her followers on Instagram. She wrote: "OMG going off on my first date for Celebs Go Dating. I haven't been on a date for 17 years, so just imagine how I'm feeling.
"I can't even find the words to describe it, and I'm good at words."
A source previously told The Sun: “When Vanessa was first approached to do the show, she wasn’t 100 per cent sure as the break-up was very fresh and she didn’t want to rush into anything. “Now she has had time to think about it and she’s decided to give it a whirl. "Her relationship coming to a devastating, unexpected end after 16 years has made her realise that life is short and you have to grab opportunities when they come your way. “She’s not necessarily expecting to find her soulmate, but she’s also keeping an open mind as stranger things have happened. "At 61 years old, she wants to have fun, live life and try new things - and this fits the bill perfectly.”
