Vanessa Feltz is a grandmother for the first time in her life.
The TV and radio personality's daughter Allegra Benitah, 27, gave birth to her first child yesterday (13.01.14), and the 51-year-old star broke the news on her Twitter account today (14.01.14) by posting a picture of the little one.
In a message accompanying the image, she wrote: "We are a grandparent (sic)"
The former 'Strictly Come Dancing' star then invited her followers to contact her BBC London radio show with stories about their first time becoming grandparents.
She wrote: "New grandparent? Share how it made you feel with new granny V, taking calls on 020 7224 2000. #grandparentsolidarity (sic)"
Before Allegra gave birth Vanessa admitted she will find it hard to suppress her maternal instincts when she finally becomes a grandmother.
Speaking about the anticipated arrival of her grandson in a recent column for Closer magazine, she said: "I must remember that this is not my baby ... Though it will feel like flesh of my flesh and my urge will be to cuddle it as tightly as humanly possible and not let go, I must remind myself that I'm a generation removed."
Proud grandparent Vanessa - who rushed to hospital three times over the festive season due to false alarms - also admitted last year that she wanted to be more involved in her grandson's life than is usually deemed appropriate.
She said: "I'm not mad and I know it's a funny thing to come out with, but I want to breastfeed the baby ... I just think that I'm going to love this child so much that when it cries I'm going to get that sensation in my breasts and they may produce milk."
