Ulrika Jonsson has reportedly signed up for 'Celebrity: SAS Who Dares Wins'.
The 53-year-old Swedish-British television presenter is to take part in the celebrity spin-off of the Channel 4 series when it returns to screens next year, alongside the likes of former 'X Factor' star Jake Quickenden and Olympic rowing legend James Cracknell.
According to an insider it was Ulrika's four kids - Cameron, 26, Martha, 16, Bo, 20, and 12-year-old Malcolm - who inspired their parent to sign up.
The source told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre TV column: “Ulrika is a huge signing for 'SAS' and she’s ready to show the world just how tough she is.
“Her four kids encouraged her to give the show a whirl. In their eyes it’s really cool. It is the toughest show on TV but everyone who signs up ends up taking so much away with them.
“It’s really fulfilling so when Ulrika was asked she jumped at the chance.
“She is physically fit but has suffered back pain in the past because of a degenerative disc condition.
“The show might not be easy for her but she’s going to roll up her sleeves and really give it her all.”
A spokesperson for the show added: “In the best traditions of the 'SAS', this mission is confidential.
“However, full details will be released when the series broadcasts next year.”
The last series of the gruelling reality show saw Joey Essex take part alongside Katie Price and Brendan Cole, with Paralympic athlete Lauren Steadman and DJ Leon 'Locksmith' Rolle walking away as joint winners.
Meanwhile, it was previously reported that Gemma Collins turned down a spot.
A source said of the ‘TOWIE’ star: "Channel 4 have been desperate to sign Gemma up for the next series as they know she would pull the viewers in and be a ratings hit.
"But she simply hasn't got the time and doesn't think camouflage and army boots are quite her style anyway."
