Tyler Cruickshank has put his showbiz career on hold to finish his law degree.
The ‘Love Island’ star – who made it to the final of the show with Kaz Kamwi in 2019 – is determined to finish his studies after taking a break when he appeared on the dating programme because he hates the idea of leaving something unfinished.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: “My exams are in January. I just wanted to finish [my law degree]. I studied law at university about four years ago and I never got back to actually finishing it, it’s something I wanted to do, I don’t leave anything unfinished.
“My law stuff’s there, showbiz isn’t going anywhere. I’m open to [other shows] but I’ll focus on my law stuff first, my exams are only three months away.”
But Tyler admitted he’s still open to more TV work in the future.
Speaking at the exclusive Shooshh Red Carpet End of Summer Party, he said: “I wouldn’t say dream offer but I’m into my fitness and stuff so maybe something like ‘The Challenge’.”
Tyler admitted that when he first came out of the villa, he couldn’t resist watching back clips of himself on the show, but insisted they were never things he sought out.
Asked if he ever watched the programme back, he said: “Short clips on YouTube, yeah. But not full episodes. When you’re bored and start scrolling, you just watch it. Not anymore though, when I first came out, yeah.”
And the star is grateful to still have his “ride or die” friends by his side.
Discussing how his life has changed, he said: “Obviously everyone knows who you are, everyone wants you to go to their events and show face, so it is a bit different, but my immediate friends didn’t change, which is a good thing for me they keep me grounded and I really hold them in high regard. They’re my ride or dies, man.”
Tyler attended the exclusive Shooshh Red Carpet End of Summer Party (@shooshhbrighton) on 1 October, at Brighton's Np. 1 VIP nightclub Shooshh - sponsored by OH Kicks and The Hilton Brighton.
