Trisha Goddard remains "very angry" at her mum for not telling her the truth about her biological father.
The 63-year-old TV presenter has revealed that her mum never admitted her dad Peter was not her biological father, even though she thought "something is different" from the age of six.
She explained: "I felt very angry towards mum. She could have told me. And there were excuses like I wasn’t ready, I wasn’t stable, then I was in the public eye and what have you.
"But I don’t think I would have judged her. It made a huge difference. I was so different from my sisters in every way."
Trisha was raised by her mum Agnes, who was born in Dominica, and dad Peter from Suffolk after they met as trainee nurses.
The TV star is now still trying to track down her family members.
Speaking about her biological dad, Trisha told 'Piers Morgan's Life Stories': "She told her friend it was just a fling at the West Indian Club. I’ve tried to track down that West Indian club."
Trisha - who is a breast cancer survivor, having been diagnosed in 2008 - is determined to learn more about her biological family for the sake of her health.
She's also admitted that the doubts she's always had about her own identity have "affected [her] dreadfully".
The TV star shared: "I’d like to know for my health, like where my cancer comes from. I remember saying to dad, I look just like mum. And he said, ‘No, you don’t’.
"I was so different from my sisters, in every way. It affected me dreadfully in my life."
