Tracie Bennett has filmed her final 'Coronation Street' scenes.
The 60-year-old actress reprised her role as Sharon Bentley in April, but the star has confirmed she has now bid farewell to the cobbles.
She wrote on Twitter: "I had just shot my very last scene @itvcorrie for a while &went to dressing room to change. All just so I could say “Ter Ra” at this very moment. (sic)"
But she dropped a slight hint that Sharon could be back in Weatherfield at some point by saying "see you soon" to her followers.
She added: "Thanks to those who know what they did for me & to haters & lovers. We do our best for everyone. See you soon. ‘Av it (sic)"
Sharon departed the cobbles last Friday (25.06.21), after trying and failing to get £10,000 out of her foster mother Rita Sullivan (Barbara Knox) to restart her jailed nephew Harvey Gaskell's (Will Mellor) drug firm.
Tracie previously predicted she could become the most-hated person in Britain due to the storyline.
She said: "I’m going to be so hated by the whole of Britain!
"It’s very complex as Sharon is being forced into this by Harvey, and she promised his late dad, her brother Wayne, she’d look out for him.
"Sharon struggles with her morality and is ultimately doing this because she’s being guilt-tripped.
"Harvey has basically told her, 'I need you to find Leanne and I don’t care how you do it.' So as Harvey gets her to do worse things, she will slowly start to realise things are getting really dangerous for her.
"There is a limit and she starts asking herself what she can do about Harvey - watch this space!"
Tracie initially portrayed Sharon from 1982 to 1984, and she reprised the role in 1999.
