Martin Delaney, who played team captain Jason Summerbee in the show, paid tribute to the late star.

He wrote on Twitter: "Sad to hear about the passing of Tony Selby. A fine actor with a wonderful catalogue of work. I had the great fortune to work with him in 1998 in @NickelodeonUK’s Renford Rejects (ep ‘Old Dogs’) starring @TheGeoffHurst & the ‘66 team. He was warm, funny & brilliant. #RIPTonySelby (sic)"
