'Strictly Come Dancing' star Tom Fletcher will dance to 'Les Misérables' song 'On My Own' this weekend - after turning down a role in the production 10 years ago.
The 36-year-old singer will finally get the chance to play Marius, a part he previously turned down due to commitments with his band, McFly.
He is quoted by the Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: "I always wanted to play Marius in 'Les Miserables'.
"I actually got offered the role but I had to commit to do it for six months, and as that meant I wouldn’t have been able to tour with McFly I turned it down.
"But then that was the year Harry did 'Strictly' and Dougie did 'I’m A Celebrity', so I could have done it after all!"
Tom and his dance partner Amy Dowden will be dancing to a Couple’s Choice routine to song ‘On My Own’, and he will portray Marius alongside Amy as Eponine.
Tom’s sister Carrie is already a star of the West End as she is currently playing in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s 'Cinderella'.
This weekend's 'Strictly' is set to be a Musicals Week extravaganza, as each couple will be dancing to a musical theatre number on Saturday night (20.11.21).
It won’t just be Tom and Amy who will be strutting their stuff to a West End tune.
AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington will be dancing the Waltz to 'Edelweiss' from 'The Sound Of Music', and Tilly Ramsay and her pro dance partner Nikita Kuzmin will be dancing a Couple’s Choice routine to 'Revolting Children' from hit musical 'Matilda', among others.
