Tina Hobley still can't dress herself unaided after she was involved in a horror smash on 'The Jump' earlier this year.
The former 'Holby City' actress broke her arm in two places, dislocated her elbow and injured her shoulder while practicing a move on the winter sports show back in January but, despite undergoing nine months of physio, the blonde beauty is still battling to get her life back on track.
She explained: "For much of the year I haven't been able to drive, dress, wash my hair or have a bath unaided.
"My daughter has had to help me put my clothes on. And for months at a time I haven't been able to take the kids to school, run errands, or do any of the things I love like yoga, cycling or walking any kind of distance. My injuries have had a huge impact on my life and on the family."
The 45-year-old star was initially told her injuries were relatively straight forward but she was left heartbroken when she returned from Austria, where the show is filmed, a few weeks later to discover her condition was much more complicated than she and doctors first thought.
She said: "I went back to London after the accident thinking I would only be in plaster for seven weeks but it turns out my injuries were worse than first thought. I had three major traumas. My elbow came out of its socket and my arm was broken in two places; I tore my rotator cuff in my shoulder - a common rugby injury which has ended careers - and I had a full rupture of my ACL [anterior cruciate ligament] in the knee. I look at my body in a very different way now. My body is so precious and I wouldn't put my body or my family through that trauma again."
Tina - who is set to undergo another operation on her knee later this month - was meant to discuss a possible role in 'Broadchurch' shortly after the incident, but she was forced to turn it down because she was still in plaster at the time.
Speaking to HELLO! magazine, she said: "I was gutted because a meeting for my dream job - in the drama series 'Broadchurch' - came up just after the injury.
"I couldn't make it because I was in plaster. I had been waiting two years for that meeting."
