Apple TV+ announced this week that their murder-mystery comedy series The Afterparty would debut on the streaming platform early next year, on January 28th, 2021.
From Chris Miller and Phil Lord, the eight-episode debut season will launch with three episodes, followed by a new episode that will released every Friday thereafter until the season's conclusion.
Tiffany Haddish leads the cast as Detective Danner, who's looking into the events that took place at a high school reunion afterparty.
Each of the episodes will show a different perspective of what happened on that night, allowing audiences a deeper look into the minds of the characters who may or may not have something to do with the tragic (but often hilarious) goings-on.
Those episodes will be shown through the lens of a popular film genre and unique visuals to match the individual's perspective.
Not too many further details have been given about the plot, but we’re sure it’s going to be one to watch moving into 2022.
Sam Richardson, Zoë Chao, Ben Schwartz, Ike Barinholtz, Ilana Glazer, Dave Franco, Jamie Demetriou and John Early all star.
Miller also serves as director on the series, as well as showrunner and executive producer alongside Lord, through their production banner, Lord Miller. Anthony King will also executive produce the series.
