Marvel's Luke Cage is making some big casting announcements this week, with Theo Rossi joining the series as a regular cast member according to Deadline. Reports continue to indicate that he may be playing Luke Cage comic books villain Shades a.k.a. Alvarez, but his definite role is currently unconfirmed.

Deadline's sources say Rossi's character is "relentless and menacing, smooth and manipulative, street-smart and controlling", which would fit the Shades character perfectly.
Their report also confirms that Daredevil's Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) will also be appearing on Luke Cage as well as Marvel's Jessica Jones.
Following this news it was revealed that Simone Missick has also signed onto the series to take on the role of Missy, a character described as having a "strong sense of justice", which fans of the comic book world could recognise as bionic-armed crime-fighter Misty Knight.
As a relatively new actress, Missick should be just another addition to Marvel's roster of promising talent, and it'll be interesting to see whether or not her character will follow her comic book lore.
