The Witcher TV series, which lives exclusively on Netflix, first debuted in November of 2019, and has been incredibly popular ever since.
The show is based on the games of the same name and, the books from which those games are adapted, and casts Henry Cavill (Batman vs Superman, Mission Impossible: Fallout) as the lead role of Geralt of Rivia.
Along with Cavill, other cast members returning for Season 3 include Anya Chalotra who plays Yennefer of Vengerberg, and Freya Allan who depicts Princess Cirilla of Cintra.
To celebrate the exciting news that The Witcher is beginning production on its third season, Netflix released a behind-the-scenes image of the very first day on set.
The newly-released image shows Cavill in his Geralt get-up, along with two female cast members, presumably Chalotra and Allan.
The cast sit in their set seats in the midst of a frozen wasteland, laughing together. Crew members can also be seen on the left side of the snowy scene, potentially getting ready to begin the shoot.
Fans were left reeling after the conclusion to the second season, so it feels safe to say that the upcoming season is very likely to be on Netflix’s top 10 soon after its release onto the platform.
Season 3 will see monarchs, mages and beasts of the Continent fight to capture Ciri of Cintra, but Geralt takes her into hiding, determined to protect his family against those who threaten to tear it apart.
Yennefer, trusted with Ciri’s magical training, leads Geralt and Ciri into the fortress of Aretuza, where she seeks to discover more about her seemingly endless powers.
The forthcoming season sees characters fight for everything they hold dear, and put their own lives on the line to protect what they love.
While there is no release date for Season 3 of The Witcher, fans can look forward to more content releasing in the coming months.
