Negan has switched up his weapon of choice in a brand new first look image for the upcoming seventh season of The Walking Dead.

Though the villainous character is renowned for using his barbed wire baseball bat Lucille to attack his victims, in this new picture he can be seen wearing his Cheshire Cat grin and gearing up to take a shot with a huge and nasty looking machine gun.
The image was released by ComingSoon, and also showed a cloud of smoke nearby, hinting that there could be a huge amount of action to come in the new batch of episodes.
Of course, the one thing most fans will be most looking forward to upon the show's return will be the identity of Negan's first victim. The sixth season left us on a cliffhanger with 11 different characters potentially meeting their end, and it was something a majority of viewers were left in uproar over.
It would seem even the cast were left in the dark, as Norman Reedus - who plays Daryl Dixon - explained to EW.
Chatting about how the cast were for the first time dreading their return to set, he said: "Negan has come in and completely shaken up everything. Loyalties are broken, belief in one another, belief in ourselves. Each individual is completely broken."
The Walking Dead returns for its seventh season to AMC in the US on Sunday, October 23. The UK premiere follows the day after on Monday, October 24 on FOX.
