Taking part in a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything), The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman confirmed that the comic book and television series' leading character, Rick, would 'eventually' die.
Despite that, it doesn't look like Rick is on the receiving end of Negan's barbed wire bat Lucille, as he commented: "The premiere episode of season 7 is going to be hard on everyone... Rick especially."
Andrew Lincoln who plays Rick in the TV show "smells like everything you want out of life", according to Kirkman.
Also asked about his favourite character, Kirkman replied: "I don't play favourites. They all die eventually.
"...Carl."
The writer admitted he has an ending for the series in his head, but wrote: "it's not happening for a long, LOOOOOONG time".
Talking about his new show Outcast, he said the series would be "VERY scary. It's weird when you write something... you kind of know how the sausage is made. So I watch it and I'm thinking 'that turned out well' or 'I like how they staged that' or 'That actor is really kicking ass.' But other people who have seen it say it's terrifying. So I'll take their word for it. It's scary."
The Walking Dead returns to AMC in the US and FOX in the UK later this year. Outcast debuts on Cinemax in the US on June 3 and comes to the UK on FOX on June
