BBC One has announced that their popular drama series The Split will be returning to the channel for a third and final season in April of this year (2022).

The Split, which first aired in April of 2018, will be back on BBC One next month, and will continue the story of the Defoes.
The show was highly popular in 2020 and, with over six million viewers and over 19 million streams, became the third most watched drama series on BBC iPlayer that year.
The Split is set in London, deep in the midst of the city’s high-end divorce circuit, and follows the complicated lives of the Defoe sisters; Hannah (Nicola Walker), Nina (Annabel Scholey), and Rose (Fiona Button), along with their challenging mother, Ruth (Deborah Findlay).
Abi Morgan, creator and writer, returns to bring the third and final season of The Split to a conclusion. Season 3 will no doubt be the most dramatic and heart-breaking season of the show, as viewers will watch a divorce lawyer confront her own divorce.
The third season of The Split will contain unseen twists and shocks, including Christie’s (Barry Atsma) return to the show. Christie’s appearance will see Hannah and Nathan’s (Stephen Mangan) marriage, which was thought to be perfect, crumble as they attempt to come to an amicable separation agreement.
As the formerly happy couple, Hannah and Nathan, start to separate their 20 years of marriage, Hannah comes to terms with what she is losing, and a shocking realisation changes the stakes.
The Split is a story of love, loss, grief for things that are not dead, and so much more, as the Defoe sisters face battle after battle both in their personal lives, and within their careers.
As confrontations start up again, the possibility of a ‘good divorce’ is questioned; will a path been drawn through the wreckage, or is 'The Split' simply too difficult to deal with?
