Emma Holmes is proud of winning new model show 'The Face' for Naomi Campbell who served as her mentor.
The 18-year-old model beat off competition from Elaine Nturo and Eleanor Corcoran to be crowned the winner of the Sky Living HD competition on Monday - landing the ultimate prize of becoming a brand ambassador for make-up giant Max Factor.
However, the feisty star says the highlight of her victory was making her supermodel mentor proud and reducing Naomi to tears of joy during the final catwalk show, where they strutted down the runway hand-in-hand.
Emma exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I was thinking, I just want to do this for her because I've learnt so much from her. It was such a nice moment, everything we'd worked towards had come to this. When she started crying I was like, 'Aww no, don't cry!' "
The half Dutch, half Jamaican beauty insists she was never scared of Naomi and has grown to think of her as a friend after facing eight weeks of tough team challenges together.
She explained: "I've never been scared of her, I have a lot of respect for her. I think sometimes people might misconstrue respect and admiration for intimidation. Obviously I was always looking up to her because she has 27 years experience behind her and I only have two.
"Somebody said to me the other day that Naomi saw herself in me. I think we are quite similar, we're both really determined and we have a strong work ethic. It's really nice to have all that support from her, and I think of her as a friend."
Emma will now appear in Max Factor's nationwide Christmas campaign for their best-selling False Lash Effect Mascara, and Naomi has constantly been at hand to offer her advice.
She explained: "I speak to her quite a lot actually, I keep messaging her saying, 'Help me!', and she's like, 'Calm down, this is what we're going to do'."
The Kent-based model also revealed she will never throw away the precious book in which Naomi instructed her team to take notes every time she spoke.
Emma added: "I have my notebook on me at all times because each one of the campaigns we did relates to a different kind of job I could get. Probably the most important advice she gave me was that you can always work harder."
Emma Holmes stars in Max Factor's False Lash Effect Mascara Campaign appearing nationwide this December.
'The Face' is now available on Sky On Demand.
