This year (2022) will be welcoming many shows back on both TV and streaming services, such as Only Murders in the Building, The Flight Attendant, and Bridgerton; Tehran is among those returning for another season.
Tehran’s first season released in June of 2020, with fans eagerly waiting for news of a follow up season.
Earlier this week (April 13th, 2022), an all-new trailer was released for Season 2 of Tehran, showcasing a thrilling and more than intriguing upcoming season.
The second season of Tehran follows Tamar (Niv Sultan), a hacker-agent from Mossad, who infiltrates Tehran under a fake identity in order to help destroy Iran’s nuclear reactor.
However, when her mission is unsuccessful, Tamar must make other plans in the form of an operation that will put everyone she loves in danger.
Cast members returning include Shaun Toub, Shervin Alenabi, Arash Marandi and Shila Ommi also returning. Glenn Close will be joining Season 2 as Marjan.
The series won an Emmy in 2021 for Best Drama, and it seems that the second season could follow in its footsteps.
The trailer for Season 2 is indeed thrilling, as the characters fight to stay alive in the midst of an incredibly dangerous mission, one that could cut them off from everything they know and love.
It seems that, despite Tamar having great skills and a mind for what she does, she is about to face the toughest thing she has ever done.
Tehran is created by Moshe Zonder, Dana Eden and Maor Kohn, and directed by Daniel Syrkin. Omri Shenhar serves as writer alongside Zonder; Syrkin and Shenhar are also co-creators.
The executive producers for the series are Dana Eden and Shula Spiegel for Donna and Shula Productions, Alon Aranya for Paper Plane Productions, Julien Leroux for Paper Entertainment, Peter Emerson for Cineflix Studios, Eldad Koblenz for Kan 11 and Zonder, Shenhar, Syrkin and Dari Shai Slutzky.
Tehran will premiere on Friday, May 6th, 2022 on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes, followed by new episodes every week during its eight-episode season, until the finale on June 17th, 2022.
