The 43-year-old star took a break from the BBC One soap, in which she plays Kim Fox-Hubbard, last summer, but This Morning's soaps reporter Sharon Marshall - who is also a writer on 'Emmerdale' - revealed the actress will be back on set in the near future.

Speaking on the brunch-time show, she said: "The great news is that Tameka is going to be back filming soon.

"I don't think she's been on the set since last year, and I've really missed the sisterly relationship between Denise and Kim."

But if viewers cannot wait to see Tameka on the small screen again then they are in luck as she will appear alongside her on-screen sister Diane Parish - who plays Denise Fox - on Monday's (20.07.20) 'EastEnders' spin-off 'Secrets from the Square'.

Diane recently admitted 'EastEnders' fans will learn about her relationship with Tameka on the programme, as well as more about their sibling characters.

She said: "I just hope people think Denise has been a great part of the show. I think they'll learn a little bit about my relationship with Tameka, as characters and as friends.

"Sometimes it's nice to get a little peek through the window because I think that we have a very special partnership, we understand each other, have a great respect for each other's work, and respect for our differences, and I think people enjoy getting a little glimpse into what we are like."

Last summer, Tameka confirmed she was taking a break from the soap, which resulted in Kim heading to Scotland to work as a tour guide.

But the actress did briefly reprise her role in December last year when Kim appeared via video call.

Tameka - who has played the part on and off since 2009 - loves working on the BBC One soap, so much so she once said it is "like going on holiday".

She explained: "Being at 'EastEnders' is like going on a holiday. Even though it's work, I enjoy it.

"I've had fans saying they want to see Kim back on the show, which is really nice. It's really lovely. I do miss playing her. She keeps me on my toes. She keeps me busy."
