Susie Amy has signed up for a short-term role in 'Hollyoaks'.
The 36-year-old actress is set to be reunited with Gary Lucy - 11 years after they starred opposite one another as husband and wife in 'Footballers' Wives' - over the next coming months after she recently bagged a small part in the Channel 4 soap.
Details on Susie's character are not yet known as a spokesperson for the show refused to comment when approached but, according to the Daily Mirror newspaper, the brunette beauty was spotted wandering around on the Chester set last week.
It's thought Susie's alter ego may even cross paths with Gary's character Luke Morgan as the alcoholic is in for some shocking scenes over the next few months as his rapist Mark Gibbs (played by Colin Parry) will also be making a return.
The show's executive producer Bryan Kirkwood explained: "When one of our writers pitched the return of Mark Gibbs, you could cut the atmosphere with a knife. Everyone almost burst into tears with the idea of what that would mean to Luke.
"We will be seeing the return of Mark later this year. He was punished at the time, but he now looks like he's got a lovely, charmed life. To Luke, who is still devastated and drinking himself into a stupor every night, that's a bitter pill to swallow.
"They're really heavyweight performances and episodes. It's thrilling to be able to revisit the past in order to motivate Luke's future."
Susie played Chardonnay Lane-Pascoe in 'Footballers' Wives' - making her a household name - opposite Gary's Kyle Pascoe from 2002 until 2006 and fans will remember their shocking wedding in which hooligans gatecrashed the ceremony.
