Susannah Fielding thinks Susanna Reid has a "harder" job working with Piers Morgan on 'Good Morning Britain' than her working with Steve Coogan on 'This Time with Alan Partridge'.
The actress thinks playing Jennie Gresham - who is often likened to the former newsreader - alongside the fictional inept broadcaster is much easier than having to co-host the early morning programme alongside the outspoken journalist.
Susannah is quoted by The Sun's Bizarre TV column as saying: "I only had to do six weeks with the character Alan Partridge, so maybe Susanna has it harder."
The brunette star also hinted at the possibility of there being a romance with her and Alan in the upcoming series.
She said: "There is a tension building. It lingers between a massive fallout or a more intimate tension. "That's something that will play out throughout this series and perhaps into the next."
Susannah took inspiration from Susanna's on-air squabbles with Piers for her alter ego.
The 33-year-old actress previously admitted she turned to the 'Good Morning Britain' host's mannerisms to help form her own character.
She said: "I did study quite a lot of Susanna Reid's straight face indignations.
"And for the audition I did quite a lot of research and there are a lot of women who are desperately trying to not let on how disappointed they are with their on-screen partner. That was quite helpful."
While Susannah turned to 'Good Morning Britain' for inspiration, writer Neil Gibbons suggested there has been a change in how such shows are presented which they had to ignore to stay true to the character of Alan.
He explained: "Presenters can say what they want these days. In the early days of Alan there was a sort of tightrope he was walking because there was an expectation, if someone fluffed a line or got someone's name wrong, or said something stupid it was mortifying."
