The former 'Strictly Come Dancing' star - who was sat between Prince Phillip and Prince Edward at the royal event - has recalled the embarrassing moment she fell out of her "beautiful Valentino dress" in the most awkward setting.

Appearing on ITV's 'Loose Women' on Tuesday (14.07.20), she said: "My wardrobe malfunction was spectacular. I was sitting between [Prince Philip] and I think it was Prince Edward at one of their balls at Windsor Castle.

"I was wearing this beautiful Valentino dress that my dad had bought me, felt a million dollars and I was eating my soup, and suddenly I felt this kind of draft around my chest area.

"I looked down and the straps had broken and both my boobs had come out, and they literally kind of almost fell into the soup!"

The 58-year-old fashion guru admitted a butler attempted to spare her blushes as he approached her with two safety pins - without being asked - to help her through the mishap.

She laughed: "I scooped my boobs back into my dress and no-one said a thing."

Susannah appeared on 'Strictly' in 2018, although she was the first first celebrity to be eliminated from the competition that year.

Following her early exit, the writer admitted she was devastated by her departure as she likened it to a tough romantic breakup.

She said at the time: "It is gutting, it is absolutely the worst feeling. I feel like I've been dumped by a boyfriend which is why I went and had my hair cut immediately afterwards. I had three/four weeks with this lovely man [Anton du Beke, her professional dance partner] and how lucky am I."
