Susanna Reid has been tipped as a frontrunner to host a new version of classic TV show 'This Is Your Life'.
TV bosses are believed to be working on a reboot of the show - which gives celebrities a look back on their lives via a giant red book - and 'Good Morning Britain' star Susanna is said to be among the candidates being considered as the new host along with 'Question Time' presenter Fiona Bruce.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "There is a reason 'This Is Your Life' aired for so many years - as a format, it is perfect. It’s warm, entertaining and interesting plus is fairly affordable to make, which of course helps ...
"It was always such an honour [for celebrities] to appear, bosses are confident a whole new generation of stars will embrace a surprise visit from the team."
The insider went on to reveal talks are already underway to bring in a new host with the show slated to go into production later in 2024.
They added: "Discussions are underway with a number of potential hosts with a view to getting work underway later this year.
"A warm, professional interviewer like Susanna or Fiona are seen as the safe hands to steer the next generation of the show."
'This Is Your Life' launched in 1955 with Eamonn Andrews at the helm. He hosted from 1955 until 1964, and then returned for a second stint from 1969 until his death in 1987.
Michael Aspel then took over and he hosted the show until it came off air in 2003.
Sir Trevor McDonald - who had previously been a celebrity featured on the show - brought the format back for a one-off special in 2007 with Simon Cowell as the special guest.
Other notable stars to have appeared on the series include Sir Christopher Lee, Omar Sharif, Frank Bruno, David Hasselhoff and Dame Barbara Windsor.
